Our November “Choosing A Paddle” session was an outstanding Paddlers Show & Tell with Paddle KC members and guests! Special guest speaker Dan Bowers with Rutabaga Paddlesports joined us online to share his in-depth knowledge of the range of kayak and SUP paddles, plus entertaining stories from his varied paddling experiences. We really appreciate Dan and Rutabaga Paddlesports – excellent advice and quality paddling gear. Thank you to members and guests who participated, especially those who showed us their favorite paddles.
Dan gave an outstanding introduction to the main types of paddles, and how the paddle types and price points differ. It was really helpful to see the Show & Tell with the wide range of paddles that Rutabaga carries, with discussion and tips for choosing a paddle. As Dan reinforced, there is no perfect paddle, but there are many options that can make a tremendous difference in paddling comfort, endurance, and durability for different uses and environments.
Members mentioned and showed their favorite paddles, including a beautiful wood-strip paddle and Greenland style paddles. All attendees gained helpful insights, and several purchased entirely different paddles based on this Show & Tell session.
